Soft Washing in Abilene, TX
When we were asked to wash these courts, I had no idea the shape they would be in. Usually if tennis courts are washed every year or every other year they are not bad depending on the climate. But, these courts had not been washed in five plus years. Why did these courts get so bad and why did they need them done? first off, the courts were not washed right the first time, if you noticed how the algae grew back in lines, which tells us that there was no pretreatment of chemicals which allowed the algae to grow back in the exact same way it was washed. When there is not a pretreatment, mold will grow back unevenly and show where you had really washed the surface well and where you did not. With our services at Perry Power Washing, algae will not grow back for a couple of years and grow back evenly so it will not look as bad in the future. When algae grows and takes over, it gets slippery especially when wet, it will also eventually degrade the surface to where the courts will have to resurfaced.
When we began, we pretreated the courts with our soft washing technique to kill algae which in turn makes the cleaning portion a lot easier. Algae is easier to remove especially when pretreatment is performed. After pretreatment, we let the chemicals dwell for 20-30 Minutes making sure it has done its job. After that we got to work! We surface cleaned the courts using about half the pressure we potentially could have used because tennis courts have a grainy-like surface to them. When washed with a lot of pressure, it can tear up the court and leave streaks in the court. All in all, we were very pleased with the outcome of these courts and so was our client. Here at Perry Power Washing, we can do all residential and the majority of commercial jobs.
